Scenario1: Read Access

Goal:

• demonstrates that proper role based read-access.

Step a: Show only users with proper roles can have read-access

• Let us try to access: https://ncdcrx3.uccs.edu/financial/finReadTest.aspx
• The web server requests for the client certificate. This triggers the browser to pop up a window for selecting a certificate that I already preinstalled.
• Let us choose “Pam” who has the roles CEO and manager. Therefore, she should be granted access.
• Walla! We are granted access.

Step b: Show only users without proper roles will be rejected.

• To avoid cert caching in IE, let us close the IE and start another instance.
• Let us try to access: https://ncdcrx3.uccs.edu/financial/finReadTest.aspx again. (Remember, only CFO can write; Managers can read).
• This time let us choose Kate, who is Engineer and Employee, not a Manager. She should get access denied.
• Yes! She was denied.
