The Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) is discussing the possibility of offering a new Masters of Engineering (ME) program in the area of Games and Media Integration (GMI). This program would provide instruction in:
The new GMI degree program, consisting of 30 credit hours at the graduate level, will provide a substantial technical foundation in these areas through several graduate level courses and require that a student create a high quality industry portfolio as well. The unique feature of this degree program is the six-credit hour of portfolio requirement with either project or thesis option. The project and/or thesis option will continue to provide student opportunities to find novel research methods, and portfolios will position student to find employment in the games and animation and other related industries. After graduating from this program students are expected to find employment in the local industry, pursue PhD in Computer Science, or seek employment in the games and media integration industry. The program is also being created to bring the games and animation work to Colorado Springs and Southern Colorado.
