PROBLEM
When the Cisco wireless PCI card is activated, the ethernet interface in the same PC is partially disabled and is not able to send or respond to ICMP packets. The PC is unable to ping or be pinged by other machines within the same ethernet subnet. The same symptoms were observed in two PCs from two different manufacturers.
